IDNYC is a broadly accepted, official form of identification in New York City, which can unlock countless discounts and freebies, including groceries, museums and transportation.
This expansive benefits list includes one-year memberships to an assortment of museums including the American Museum of Natural History, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Metropolitan Opera, etc. It also offers entertainment discounts such as movie tickets for as low as $8, Broadway Shows, Nationwide Theme Parks, and many others.
IDNYC even has benefits orientated towards health and fitness. You can receive discounts to a variety of fitness activities such as class discounts at the School of Ballet or 15% off a YMCA membership, among others. Including prescription drug discounts and easily accessible medical documents when using IDNYC.
The Identification even offers a 5% discount at Food Bazaar, a grocery store, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
You can apply by making an appointment online or by calling 311, as all IDNYC now require an appointment. Appointments are released each week on Friday afternoon, for the following Monday through Friday. To apply you’ll need three points of identification and residency in New York City. All applicants will need to provide photo identification and a document with their date of birth. You can use the IDNYC Document Calculator to see which documents they’ll accept.
