Ronna McDaniel To Step Down As RNC Chair, Trump To Back Michael Whatley

Trump, in a televised interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, hinted that RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel will have to step down.

“I think she did great when she ran Michigan for me. I think she did OK, initially, in the RNC. I would say right now, there’ll probably be some changes made,” said Trump.

The soon-to-be Republican nominee for the American Presidency is exerting influence over the party, making his desires known and adhered to from internal party dynamics to the US Congress.

The New York Times was the first to report on Tuesday that McDaniel will be stepping down and that Trump intends to endorse North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley.

McDaniel is expected to officially step down after South Carolina primary.
