The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) executed search operations at the properties belonging to former Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik, along with 29 other locations, concerning allegations of corruption linked to the Kiru Hydropower project.

Approximately 100 officers were involved in the operation, spanning across several cities. The investigation revolves around suspected irregularities in the allocation of civil works contracts for the project, valued at Rs 2,200 crore.

Malik had previously disclosed that he was approached with a bribe of Rs 300 crore in exchange for expediting project-related paperwork.
