“We have not seen any confirmation that missiles have actually moved from Iran to Russia,” Politico quotes Kirby.

He also mentioned that the White House would soon announce new sanctions against Iran in retaliation for its weapon shipments to Russia, including Shahed kamikaze drones.

“We will implement additional sanctions against Iran and we will coordinate further response options with our allies and partners in Europe and elsewhere,” Kirby said.

Previously, the Ukrainian Air Force said it had no data about Russian acquisition of ballistic missiles from Iran with ranges between 300 and 700 kilometers.

On Nov. 21, 2023, The Wall Street Journal reported that Washington believes Iran is readying to supply Russia with short-range ballistic missiles.
