'Yeah' – Rasmus Hojlund asked which legendary Man Utd player he wished he played alongside, there's a clear winner

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has revealed one Red Devils legend is his footballing idol and he wished he could have played alongside him at Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund has scored eight times in his last eight Manchester United matches after entering into a stunning run of form at the Premier League club.

The in-form United striker has found the back of the net in his last six consecutive Premier League matches, including a brace against Luton Town last Sunday.

Hojlund had come under mounting pressure earlier this season after he failed to score in his first 14 Premier League matches following his move to Old Trafford.

However, the 21-year-old Denmark striker, who was signed from Atalanta, has turned things around at United and his rich vein of form has been widely praised.

Hojlund’s goalscoring tally in the Premier League is now seven in 20 matches, with the Danish forward also scoring five times in six Champions League appearances.

Hojlund names Man Utd legend as football idol

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video, Rasmus Hojlund took part in a Q&A and the Manchester United star opened up about his time at Old Trafford so far.

The Denmark international was asked who would be his footballing idol and Hojlund picked out none other than United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hojlund was later asked who would be the one former United player he would want to play alongside, with the Danish forward naming Ronaldo as his choice again.

The former Atalanta man admitted he would have loved to have had the opportunity to do Ronaldo’s iconic ‘siu’ celebration alongside him.

In a clip posted on Prime Video Sport’s TikTok page, Hojlund said: “Former [Man United player to play alongside]? Cristiano.

“Yeah, 100 per cent [would do his siu celebration alongside him].”

Ronaldo and Man Utd exit

Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford in 2022 after his falling out with Erik ten Hag, with the United legend pulling no punches in an interview with Piers Morgan.

The 39-year-old Portuguese forward returned to United in 2021 after he left Juventus and linked up with former club teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ronaldo scored an impressive 18 times in 30 Premier League matches in the 2021-2022 season, despite Solskjaer being sacked as United manager.

However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner found his playing time reduced under Ten Hag and Ronaldo was unhappy with the Dutchman’s tactics involving him.

Ronaldo’s contract with United was terminated by mutual agreement in 2022 and the Portugal international arrived at Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in 2023.
