Trump Weighs In On Alabama IVF Ruling, Sparks Clash With Biden-Harris Campaign

The Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos are to be considered children last week, which has resulted in Alabama lawmakers to push for legislation to protect vitro fertilization prompting responses from former President Trump and President Biden. Trump doesn’t feel responsible for this ruling.

“Under my leadership, the Republican Party will always support the creation of strong, thriving, healthy American families. We want to make it easier for mothers and fathers to have babies, not harder! That includes supporting the availability of fertility treatments like IVF in every State in America,” said Trump on Truth Social.

During Trump’s presidency he appointed three anti-aborion Supreme Court justices, who overturned Roe v. Wade, and his MAGA allies on the hill have co-sponsored legislation which would endanger IVF treatment nationally.

“Like the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Americans, including the VAST MAJORITY of Republicans, Conservatives, Christians, and Pro-Life Americans, I strongly support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to have a precious baby. Today, I am calling on the Alabama Legislature to act quickly to find an immediate solution to preserve the availability of IVF in Alabama,” said Trump on Truth Social.

Trump has also appointed an anti-IVF judge, Sarah Pitlyk, for the US District Court in St. Louis, for a lifetime appointment, and hosted Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Parker at the White House and the campaign trail, who implemented the Alabama ruling.

“The Republican Party should always be on the side of the Miracle of Life – and the side of Mothers, Fathers, and their Beautiful Babies. IVF is an important part of that, and our Great Republican Party will always be with you, in your quest, for the ULTIMATE JOY IN LIFE!” said Trump on Truth Social.

The Biden-Harris Campaign responded to Trump’s latest on Truth Social calling him out on his hypocrisy.

“American women couldn’t care less what Donald Trump posts on Truth Social, they care that they can’t access fertility treatment because of him,” “Let’s be clear: Alabama families losing access to IVF is a direct result of Donald Trump’s Supreme Court justices overturning Roe v. Wade. Trump is responsible for 20 plus abortion bans, restrictions on women’s ability to decide if and when to grow a family, and attacks on contraception. He proudly overturned Roe, and brags about it on the campaign trail — as recently as last night,” Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden-Harris campaign manager, said in a statement.

The Alabama Supreme Court ruling raises many questions and consequences for families seeking fertility treatment. “But what if we can’t freeze them?” Barbara Collura, the president and chief executive of Resolve said to The New York Times.

“Trump cannot run from his record and neither can the millions of women who his actions have hurt. Trump and his extreme MAGA allies are planning to ban abortion nationally, limit contraception, and destroy women’s health care coast to coast,” said Chavez Rodriguez.
“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will protect women’s health and freedom to make their own decisions about growing their families.”
