Resident Alien series breaks Netflix top 10

Resident Alien is a sci-fi comedy-drama series that was added to Netflix earlier in February.

Based on Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse’s comic book of the same name, the TV show was created by Chris Sheridan and first premiered on the channel Syfy in January 2021, where it began to develop an extremely passionate following.

Alan Tudyk stars as Harry Vanderspeigle, an alien who crashes on Earth and adopts the identity of a physician in a small Colorado town. He’s actually been sent to destroy humanity but instead, he winds up becoming the local doctor and grapples with the weight of the task he’s been assigned.

Season 2 premiered in 2022 and was every bit as brilliant as the first, although it’s taken reaching Netflix for many viewers to finally discover the show—but better late than never.

“Now this is the funniest show on TV,” one fan recently tweeted. Another tweeted that the show “is so good… Great story and phenomenal ensemble cast… Bingeworthy.”

After finding it on Netflix, one declared it “One of my new favorite shows… It’s so hilarious.”

Offering their recommendations, a viewer tweeted that “Everybody needs to watch Resident Alien on Netflix… I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time.” It’s terrific to see it getting so much love.

Is Resident Alien renewed for season 3?

Not only is it renewed but Resident Alien season 3 is already here and began premiering on Syfy on Wednesday, February 14th 2024.

Although season 3 has yet to reach Netflix, you can check out new installments weekly each Wednesday on Syfy Live or the Syfy website for catch-up. The latest episodes are also added to Peacock on Thursdays, so you can check out more if you’ve raced through seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix.

As of yet, Syfy hasn’t confirmed season 4 but fans are already asking. Looking at the show’s Netflix success, a fan argued “If this isn’t a sign that Resident Alien needs to be renewed for another season!”
