DreamWorks has offered audiences so many wonderful family movies over the years, with such animated gems as Shrek, How To Train Your Dragon, and Trolls branching out into prosperous franchises. In 2010, the superhero movie Megamind cast Will Ferrell as the titular alien supervillain, whom fans wished to see in a sequel. Better late than never, but after 14 years we’re invited to check out the follow-up Megamind Vs The Doom Syndicate on streaming.

Megamind Vs The Doom Syndicate is an animated DreamWorks movie that serves as a sequel to 2010’s Megamind.
This time around, the titular villain turned hero is working to protect the citizens of Metro City, and to help him he assembles a team. A circle of supervillains he once rubbed elbows with has plans to launch the city to the moon, but can Megamind’s team prove a match and foil their plan?
The movie became available to stream exclusively on Peacock on Friday, March 1st 2024.

Not only that, but subscribers have been treated to a double dose of Megamind because the Doom Syndicate movie also acts as a pilot to the brand-new TV series Megamind Rules!, made up of eight episodes in total.
Megamind Vs The Doom Syndicate replaces Will Ferrell
The role was originally played by Will Ferrell but in both Megamind Vs The Doom Syndicate and Megamind Rules! he’s been replaced by Keith Ferguson, a voice actor who has worked on Inside Out (additional voices) and more.
Some Megamind fans have wasted no time voicing their disappointment in the recasting though.
“Oh, I suddenly don’t like this,” one tweeted. “I’ll try. Megamind is such a slept-on movie but Will Ferrell is not an easy one to replace.”
More critical of the decision, another argued: “I understand Will Ferrell is expensive, but this was NOT who to replace with him.”
