‘Struggling’: Kenny Dalglish says £70m Man Utd player might just be too slow

Casemiro really isn’t having his best season at Manchester United.

The Brazilian has been, with all due respect, a bit of a liability at times this term in the midfield as he’s struggled to command the centre of the park in the way he used to.

We hate to use this term about such a legendary player, but it really does look as though the £70m man’s legs have gone.

Don’t just take our word for it though. Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Kenny Dalglish has said similar, claiming that one of United’s main problems recently has been a lack of speed, highlighting Casemiro as one player who has struggled on that front.

Casemiro is struggling with pace

Dalglish spoke about the Man United midfielder.

“The problem I think United had against Fulham was speed wasn’t it? They got caught a bit with their lack of pace. Casemiro has been a fantastically successful midfield player, but if you put somebody up against him and say to run off him, he’ll be struggling a wee bit,” Dalglish said.

No coming back

As brilliant a player as Casemiro has been over the years, there’s no coming back once your legs have gone.

More than any other league, in the Premier League, you need to be physically able to keep up with the play, and, sadly, it looks like Casemiro’s speed has deserted him.

At the age of 32, it’s not all that surprising to see that Casemiro has slowed down after more than a decade at the top level, but if his legs have gone, United need to move on quickly from Casemiro or else the Brazilian is going to continue costing the Red Devils valuable points.
