'Been immense': Caoimhin Kelleher says Liverpool have a midfielder who has a 'crazy' quality

Nothing feels better than a last-minute winner. Liverpool fans have been feeling that a lot in the last few days. From celebrating a Carabao Cup final win in the last minutes of extra-time against Chelsea to beating Nottingham Forest in the 99th minute.

It’s been a special week. Made all the more impressive by the fact that Liverpool had so many key players unavailable to play for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Yet they had gotten through this period unscathed and are very much in contention to compete on all fronts this season.

The game against Forest was probably the closest Liverpool have come to not being able to do that. A draw at Forest would have been a significant blow in Liverpool’s race for the Premier League title. But out of nowhere Jurgen Klopp’s men were able to deliver a special moment once again.

Much of that was thanks to Alexis Mac Allister, who Caoimhin Kelleher was in awe of after the game.

Caoimhin Kelleher on Alexis Mac Allister

Speaking after Liverpool’s victory over Nottingham Forest to LFCTV, Caoimhin Kelleher highlighted Alexis Mac Allister for special praise. The Liverpool goalkeeper described how Mac Allister has been ‘immense’ and that the Argentine has a ‘crazy’ technical quality.

“He’s been immense this season. And the quality that he has, the technical ability he has is crazy. The cross was superb and the header unbelievable, too,” Kelleher said.

The Irishman is right. Mac Allister is crazy good, and he deserves more attention. Over the course of his last three Premier League games, he has made four goal contributions for Liverpool. Ever since he moved further up the pitch, he’s really started to show his offensive quality as well.

There is no denying it now, the 25-year-old was one of the best purchases the club has made in recent memory. Mac Allister has been up there with Liverpool’s best players this season.
