Conor Bradley has named former Real Madrid star who scored vs Liverpool as his footballing idol

Conor Bradley has been sensational since coming into the side for Liverpool recently. Deputising for Trent Alexander-Arnold is not an easy job. Even for seasoned professionals. But Bradley, who is still only 20-years-old has done a fantastic job.

If anything over the course of the last few weeks, he has made himself not just a deputy but a contender for the right-back spot. With goals against Chelsea, to important assists and defensive contributions in several games, Bradley has been very impressive.

He is undoubtedly a part of Liverpool’s first team now. Rather than being considered as an academy player when he first came into the side. At 20-years-old, the sky is clearly the limit for the youngster, who has recently revealed that his footballing idol was a player who broke Liverpool hearts a few years ago.

Conor Bradley on his footballing idol while growing up

Speaking over Instagram DMs to LFCDZN11, Conor Bradley revealed that his footballing idol growing up was Gareth Bale.

Bradley has been a boyhood Liverpool supporter, so his decision to pick Bale might be a bit of a surprise. However, considering Bale played in a similar position to Bradley during the start of his career it makes more sense. We can definitely see shades of Bale in his prime in the way Bradley likes to play football as well.

But of course with the mention of Bale, we cannot forget about what happened in the Champions League final in 2018. The Welshman terrorised Liverpool in that final, scoring an absolute stunning bicycle kick goal for his first strike in the final, and then very much being fortunate with his second, which was a howler from Loris Karius.

But aside from that haunting memory, Bale has always been an inspiring character. Especially with the way he has led the Welsh national team. It would be fantastic to see Bradley to the same with Northern Ireland in the coming years.
