Nestle launching creamer that you can mix with Dr Pepper for ‘dirty soda’

Coffee Mate is set to launch a new coconut and lime creamer that is intended to be added to Dr Pepper to create the viral “dirty soda” mocktail.

The new partnership seemingly follows the TikTok and Instagram trend of creating a “dirty soda” using Coca-Cola, coconut syrup, lime juice, and creamer. Such collaborations are not completely unheard of, with the most notable being Heinz’s Saucy Sauce combining mayo and ketchup following a cult following online.

The ‘Dirty soda’ just got easier

In 2024 there are countless ways to spice up your drink of choice with various syrups, powders, and creamers. Now there’s another to add to your drink bucket list.

The news was seemingly broken by numerous social media snacking pages including Instagram’s Snackolator and Markie Devo.

Snackolator wrote to their 210k followers: “Coffee Mate is getting… dirty with Dr. Pepper, releasing a limited edition Dirty Soda Coconut Lime creamer that is made to be mixed with soda!”

According to the tease, the creamer will be: “hitting stores this month for a limited time and is specifically created to mix with @drpepper and their 23 flavors.”

Reports suggest that the “dirty soda” trend began in Utah, where the majority of people are practicing Mormons. In their religion, alcohol, and hot caffeinated drinks are completely forbidden and so Gen Z has found a number of loopholes and secret hacks to exploit.

Social media is divided

While there is clearly an appetite for the unique new release, some snackers are not on board with Coffee Mate’s new product.

“That just sounds not good,” one person wrote, as someone else agreed, “Oh man what has Utah done!!! We have influenced Dr Pepper hahaha.”

“Everyone talking smack here has never had an ice cream float and it shows. A creamy soda isn’t as crazy as it looks. I mean it’s really just an egg cream,” someone countered.
