'Living his best life...': Hilarious Chris Powell footage emerges after Sheffield Wednesday win

Sheffield Wednesday earned another huge win in the Championship on Tuesday night, beating Plymouth Argyle 1-0.

Sheffield Wednesday for the first time this season have won four games in a row.

Few would’ve thought it’d be possible after starting so poorly under Xisco Munoz, but Danny Rohl has well and truly transformed the club’s fortunes.

The Owls are now level on points with QPR up in 20th and just two points behind Plymouth who remain in 16th place of the table.

Safety is well within the Owls’ reach now. The mood is rife after a hugely positive run of form and last night’s celebrations saw first-team coach Chris Powell at it once again.

Loveable Chris Powell in Sheffield Wednesday antics

Powell joined Sheffield Wednesday soon after Rohl.

Rohl wanted an experienced, English coach to come in and help with the transition; Powell arrived with bags of experience having worked with the England national team and also Tottenham Hotspur.

And he’s become a hugely popular figure among fans, with his celebrations after wins proving popular.

Last night, more footage of Powell emerged after the game. Journalist Rob Staton shared on X:

A shrewd appointment by Danny Rohl

Rohl has arguably one of the best backroom teams in the league.

And that’s evident in the turnaround at the club; Powell is also joined by names like Sascha Lense, Henrik Pedersen, and Sal Bibbo to name a few, with Kevin Beadell the recruitment chief.

All of whom have worked at top clubs in Europe, Powell too, yet all joined a lowly Sheffield Wednesday side earlier in the season.

It shows how much faith they all had in Rohl and in the chances he stood of turning things around in S6.

And the presence of Powell at Sheffield Wednesday can’t be underestimated; he’s a very likeable character and a calm head, with so much experience and expertise to offer the players in what is still a very tough period.

The Owls remain in the bottom three and with games against Leeds United and Ipswich coming up, the gap to safety could quickly reopen.

So the job is far from done. But hopes are rightly high after four-straight wins in the Championship, with three clean sheets from those four wins as well.

The game vs Leeds United kicks off at 8pm on Friday night at Elland Road and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
