Dr Pepper addresses rumor it's getting discontinued

Dr Pepper was forced to issue a statement online after a TikTok conspiracy theory suggested their product was being discontinued.

It’s crazy to think about but Dr Pepper actually predates a lot of major American history moments as it was initially founded in Texas in 1885. Since then, the brand has become one of the leading soda companies in the world, rivaling giants like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Fanta.

Earlier this month, a conspiracy theory began spiraling on TikTok that suggested Dr Pepper was leaving the shelves once and for all. As one of the leading drinks brands in the US, this confused a lot of long-time customers.

Fans of the sugary drinks were understandably devastated by the news, as one person cried: “If Dr Pepper is really getting discounted I will kms. Someone tell me it’s not true.”

Thankfully, the brand’s official Twitter account addressed the viral news in a public statement. Much like an influencer apology video, the brand posted the statement straight from the iPhone Notes app.

They wrote: “Hey internet, you can all cool your thumbs because Dr Pepper is not being discontinued. *applause*.

“This rumour started with a TikTok video posted earlier this week. No more Dr Pepper would be very upsetting. World crushing. The worst of all time. But you have nothing to worry about. Dr Pepper isn’t going anywhere. These 24 flavors are 4 life. TLDR: Dr Pepper is not discontinued.”

Fans are over the moon

The official statement racked up over 250k views as thousands took to the comments with decorations of adoration.

One person screamed: “I would start a riot if Dr.Pepper was discontinued.”

“Wtf so what do I do with these 100 cases i just bought???” someone else wrote, as a third said, “Ok, time to cancel the riot.”
