March 8 unveiled the hugely anticipated release date of The Kardashians season 5. Since moving over to Hulu in 2022, the family of reality TV stars has been serving drama for four seasons. Now, a fifth instalment is in store and some fans are convinced the Kardashians trailer is taking inspiration from Dune – a movie starring Timothée Chalamet.
Last season, the Kar-Jenners showed their love for a roller disco and Beyoncé in their season 4 trailer. Now, it appears the reality TV show is amping up the drama with its upcoming May 23 release. “New horizons” apparently “await” the stars as suspenseful music plays in the trailer.
‘Kardashians trailer is Dune vibes’
Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian appear in the first scene of The Kardashians season 5 trailer.
Their sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, as well as the momager of the family, Kris Jenner, all appear later in the 15-second clip.
Fans have only been given a teaser clip of the season 5 goodness so far but they’re already convinced the theme is inspired by a 2021 sci-fi movie called Dune.
Potential nod to Timmy
As on-and-off dating rumors swirl around Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, fans are linking her family’s new show trailer to a movie he’s super famous for.
Timothée is currently likely enjoying the hype of Dune 2’s release while Kylie’s fans are likening her Kardashians trailer backdrop to his movie.
Taking to a Reddit thread, fans suggested the trailer looked like “Dune cosplay” and another said: “I was just about to say that. Definitely Dune themed. Never something original lol.”
‘Kim does Kris and Kylie dirty’
Per the same Reddit thread, fans were keen to go in on the stars for not creating something “original” for their season 5 trailer.
According to eagle-eyed fans, Kim “does Kris and Kylie dirty” in a screenshot she shared from the trailer on her Instagram page.
One person said Kim made the “classic move” of posting a photo where you look good but the other people don’t.
More screenshotted images of Khloé and Kourtney, writing: “These two also look like they don’t want to be there…”
Others tore apart some of the family members’ trailer looks. But, one loyal fan jumped to Kim’s defense, commenting: “Wow, this is just mean. I think this might be a screenshot from the show, though. They were probably moving. She chose the shot where SHE looks the best.”
