Meek Mill says dad’s death at a young age motivated him to ‘get rich’

In a now-deleted tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, the 36-year-old penned: “My dad died in 1992 doing a robbery…that made me wanna get rich, that was the get back.

“The person who killed my dad is probably 60,” the rapper continued. “Talking about dead people don’t hurt me. Having all your homies killed behind your mistake you gotta drink l*** constantly,” he concluded.

At the time of his father’s death, the All Eyes on You rapper was just five years old.

After his dad’s death, Meek Mill, who previously dated Nicki Minaj, was raised by his mother in North Philadelphia, along with his older sister.

“Man that must have been hard for him. Respect for his success though,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

The rapper was ‘shocked’ by AI song ‘Resurrecting’ his late father

AI has been overtaking the world, and TikTok, and in May last year the rapper took to X to share a clip of a rap song from his dad, created by an AI app.

The clip showed an animated photo of his late father, who moved his mouth as he ‘rapped’ along to the song, which had been titled Back From the Grave.

One of the lyrics in the song was, “My son Meek Mill, he’s the light of my life, gotta watch over him I’m back from the afterlife.”

Taking to X in May, the rapper captioned the video: “Ai wrote a rap about my dad and this what he said WTF.”
