Man killed in Jersey Shore house fire ID’d as 63-year-old homeowner

A man found dead on an outdoor stairway landing for Ocean City home that caught fire on Wednesday has been identified as the property’s owner.

Ronald Reichenbach, 63, died in the blaze at the Asbury Avenue home. The fire broke out around 10:45 a.m. The cause of his death and the fire remain under investigation by local police and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.

No injuries were reported to first responders, and the home sustained minimal damage, officials said Wednesday. Reichenbach was the only person inside the home at the time.

Officials did not say if any neighboring homes were damaged by the flames.
