Newark`s Elite Woman Cyclist, Isabel Darvill racing for the Doltcini O`Shea Women`s Professional Cycling Team started her second event of the season in Belgium at the 2024 ALTEC GP Oetingen p/b Lotto last week.
Darvill suffered a mechanical breakdown with a broken seat post after securing a good position in the main bunch and unfortunately had to retire from the race.
The race was ultimately won by the fastest sprinter in the Women`s Elite Races, Dutch rider Lorena Wiebes of the World`s number one Women`s Team, S D Works from the Netherlands.
Darvill`s next race will be the CICLI Melton Classic Women`s Race based at Melton Mowbray on Sunday.
