Marjorie Taylor Greene caught a fact-check on Friday after she argued that Judge McAfee should be removed from the Donald Trump criminal case in Georgia, in part because he donated to Fani Willis years ago.

Reacting to the ruling in which McAfee said Fani Willis could continue prosecuting Trump, Greene claimed that "Judge McAfee worked for Fani Willis and donated to her campaign AND has now ruled that Fani can keep prosecuting Trump but only if she removes her lover Nathan Wade off the case!"

"Judge McAfee should have recused himself in the first place because of his obvious bias," Greene wrote. "Fani Willis lied under oath in his courtroom! Fani and Wade conspired with the Whitehouse and Jan 6th Committee, talk about RICO charges! Fani Willis overpaid her lover Nathan Wade as he had zero experience with RICO cases, abuse of taxpayer funds! And the Georgia Ethics board needs to seriously investigate both Fani Willis and Nathan Wade, I’ve filed multiple complaints! The corruption in Fulton County, Georgia is some of the worst in the nation. It makes most of us in Georgia sick."

"Sigh," legal analyst Anna Bower wrote in response to Greene. "Judge McAfee donated a small sum to Fani Willis's campaign in 2020-before he was appointed to the bench."

Bower added that Georgia courts "have held that nominal campaign contributions are an insufficient basis for judicial recusal. There's no basis for McAfee to recuse."

But the internet focused on another part of Greene's post.

"So Cannon should be pulled from the Mar-A-Lago case then, right? Appointed by the defendant, too," one user wrote in response to the X post.

Democrat @DCelesteSpencer said on Friday, "Marjorie Taylor Greene accused Judge McAfee of donating to Fani Willis’ according to an article by Briebert saying he did in 2020. She also said he should’ve recused himself. Well, what about Judge Cannon and SCOTUS Clarence Thomas and Judge Alito? We don’t always get what we want."

@DianneCallaha16 also responded, "Trump placed Aileen Cannon on the bench. Should she be removed?"
