Posthumous action-thriller from Euphoria's Angus Cloud breaks into Netflix charts

Best known for the complex and layered role of Fezco in the popular HBO teen drama Euphoria, American actor Angus Cloud announced himself as a major and unique talent. Tragically, he passed away at 25 in July 2023, leaving so many heartbroken in his absence. Since his passing, a handful of posthumous performances have begun to make their way to screens, and in Your Lucky Day he scored a leading role you can now check out on Netflix.

Your Lucky Day movie hits Netflix ‘Top 10’

Directed by Daniel Brown, Your Lucky Day is an ultra-tense American action thriller that was added to Netflix this March following a theatrical release back in November 2023.

“I keep thinking about that old question… what would you do if you had a million dollars?” That’s what Angus Cloud‘s central character Sterling is asking himself.

Down on his luck and inside a convenience store, he overhears that a man has struck a winning lottery ticket of a whopping $156 million. Immediately jumping into gear, he obscures his face and decides to hold the man at gunpoint for the ticket.

When a cop who was in the bathroom emerges from the back, the stick-up quickly spirals into a hostage situation. With millions on the table, how far will the people present go to escape with their lives and a cut of the jackpot?

The movie‘s a gripping and claustrophobic gem of a thriller, and with more and more people checking it out, it’s currently the fifth movie charting on Netflix’s ‘Top 10’ category, coming in ahead of a movie I recently recommended called Unthinkable starring Samuel L. Jackson.

Your Lucky Day viewers mourn Angus Cloud

Fans have been quick to offer praise of the movie and Angus’ fantastic central performance since its addition to Netflix.

“Watching Your Lucky Day on Netflix, Angus Cloud you were amazing,” a fan recently tweeted. “Continue to rest in peace.”

“Rest in peace Angus Cloud,” another voiced. “Your Lucky Day was a great last film.” More
have also believed it’s his last movie: “Angus Cloud’s last film is on Netflix and it’s fire. It was sad watching him but it’s good.

It may be one of his final performances but it isn’t the last. You can see him in the upcoming vampire movie Abigail, which follows a crew attempting to survive in a mansion after unknowingly kidnapping Dracula’s daughter. It’s in theaters on Friday, April 19th 2024.

“It was great to see Angus Cloud again!” one said of Your Lucky Day. “Another great performance from the Bay Area legend! Great stuff.” Be sure to give it a try, it packs quite a punch in its slick 89-minute runtime.

Your Lucky Day is now streaming on Netflix.
