Report: West Ham have rejected multiple bids for forgotten 22-year-old ahead of summer window

West Ham United have knocked back numerous bids for one of our players ahead of the summer transfer window it seems.

The summer transfer window will be an absolutely vital one for West Ham boss David Moyes, if he is still in charge of course!

Numerous new signings will be required, if we are to make some real progress as a team, but Moyes will need to let some players leave as well.

One of the players who will surely be surplus to requirements is Brazilian centre-back Luizao – a player who was linked with a move away from the London Stadium January but our £4 million demands prevented him from leaving.

According to a report from Esporte News Mundo, a handful of Brazilian and Portuguese sides such as Atlético Mineiro, Cruzeiro and Portimonense have made offers for the 22-year-old centre-back.

However, those offers have only been loan proposals, and the Hammers would prefer to sell him permanently.

West Ham reject offers for player ahead of summer transfer window

It seems like the Hammers are open to selling the South American, but he won’t be leaving the club on loan.

I think we should just let him leave, whether that be on loan or on a permanent basis.

Luizao joined West Ham on a free transfer from Sao Paulo in January of 2023, but he is still yet to make a senior appearance for the club.

He has played 35 games for the under-21s, bagging four goals in the process (Transfermarkt), but you wouldn’t go as far as saying he’s really highly rated at the London Stadium, because he quite simply isn’t!

The former Sao Paulo defender was actually seen training with the first-team back in October of last year, but that’s the closest he has come to even getting a sniff of being included in the senior squad.

West Ham selling central defender Luizao in the upcoming summer transfer window would definitely make sense for all parties involved. Whether we are able to get anywhere near what we value him at remains to be seen though.
