You have to see hilarious Madame Web gag reel now the movie is ready to watch at home

After the bizarre reception of the Jared Leto superhero movie Morbius in 2022, Madame Web came along to prove that lightning can strike the same place twice, and that place is over at Sony Pictures Releasing. Released in theaters on Valentine’s Day, the fourth entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe was torn to shreds by critics. However, thanks to press interviews with central star Dakota Johnson, bizarre trailer dialogue and more, Madame Web became the unlikely meme movie event of the year.

Sony unveils Madame Web BTS gag reel

I know a bunch of people who went to see Madame Web only after it became more of a meme-able force to be reckoned with, and yes, all of them said they had an amazing time at the movies. And you know what? I did too.

The memes really have taken on a life of their own, and thankfully, Madame Web is the Marvel gift that keeps on giving. Or, rather, Sony is the gift that keeps on giving us more Madame Web.

Giving us a goofy glimpse behind the scenes, the official Sony Pictures Entertainment YouTube page has unveiled a snappy gag reel. It’s a minute of bloopers that captures the awkward appeal the film itself has pretty perfectly.

The reactions to the gag reel have been predictably funny too. “The entire movie is a gag reel,” one argued, and if any movie in recent years does, it’s definitely this one. “I thought I saw the gag reel in theaters?” another joked.

The comments range from calling it a masterpiece to one of the worst movies they’ve ever seen, but there’s one thing we can all agree on: It’s one of the movies of all time. No doubt about it.

I currently have it down as my worst movie of the year, and yet I know I could go back and have a ton of fun with it. Destined to be a ‘so bad it’s good’ classic? I think so.

How to watch Madame Web on streaming

You can now pay to watch Madame Web on VOD because the movie became available on such platforms as Google Play, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video on Friday, March 15th 2024.

It costs $19.99 to rent or $24.99 to purchase (in both standard definition and HD), with Prime Video offering the Bonus X-ray Edition.

Honestly, the film has to be seen to be believed, and all of the YouTube videos and memes don’t really do it justice. Now that it’s ready to watch at home, it’s likely Cassie Webb can see some Madame Web and Morbious double-bills in many of our futures. Bring it on.

Madame Web is now streaming PVOD and in theaters.
