Bundesliga top scorer Harry Kane had to be substituted with an injury during Bayern Munich's 5-2 win at Darmstadt on Saturday.

"He twisted his ankle and had to ice it. We still have to wait for an exact diagnosis. We hope that it will just remain a scary moment," Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel told reporters.

The England captain, who earlier scored to make it 31 goals this league season - more than any other Bundesliga debutant, collided with the post and netting in an attempt to get to the ball after Jamal Musiala had hit the crossbar.

“Proud to break a Bundesliga record but more importantly another good win,” he said on X afterwards, apparently not alarmed by his injury.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said Kane will still travel to the England national team set-up ahead of two friendlies with Brazil and Belgium.

"We are in close consultation. He won't be taking any risks," said Freund. "We hope it's not that bad and that he'll be back on the pitch soon."

There was meanwhile an all-clear for Aleksandar Pavlovic, who has been called up to the Germany squad for the first time by coach Julian Nagelsmann for the upcoming friendlies in France and against the Netherlands.

The midfielder was taken off after just under an hour with a swollen eye following a clash of heads.

"It's nothing serious. I don't have a cut and everything is fine with my head," reported the 19-year-old.
