Alejandro Garnacho was immediately embraced by one Man Utd star while he celebrated Amad Diallo winner on his own

Alejandro Garnacho received an immediate heartfelt embrace from one Manchester United star after Amad Diallo scored a dramatic injury-time winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Manchester United secured their place in the FA Cup semi-finals after playing out a thrilling 4-3 victory over Premier League rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils will face Coventry City at Wembley next month, while United’s rivals Manchester City will take on Chelsea in the other semi-final FA Cup match.

United started off the FA Cup quarter-final with a strong performance, with Scott McTominay opening the scoring for the Red Devils against Liverpool.

But United struggled to maintain their momentum and Liverpool secured a 2-1 lead at Old Trafford before half-time thanks to Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah.

The Red Devils fought back after the break and Antony, who came off the bench, produced a stunning finish to send the FA Cup tie into extra time.

Harvey Elliott restored Liverpool’s advantage before the end of the first half of extra time, but Marcus Rashford pulled back an equaliser for United after play resumed.

Alejandro Garnacho earned rave reviews for his performance against Liverpool, with the United winger playing a key role in the Red Devils’ winner against the Reds.

Man Utd star celebrates with Garnacho

Amad Diallo, who came off the bench in regular playing time, was instrumental in Manchester United’s winner against Liverpool from the opening moment to the end.

The 21-year-old Ivory Coast international managed to effectively nick the ball from Harvey Elliott after a Liverpool corner and launched United’s late counterattack.

Diallo played the ball to Alejandro Garnacho and the Spain-born winger charged down the middle before sending the ball back to his teammate in the final third.

The Ivorian forward took the ball past Conor Bradley before he fired a superb low shot past Caoimhin Kelleher and into the back of the Liverpool net.

Diallo wheeled away in celebration and was swarmed by his United teammates, including the likes of teenage sensation Kobbie Mainoo.

Footage on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, emerged of Garnacho running in the opposite direction and celebrating in front of fans.

Garnacho, who has had an impressive season at United, was embraced by club captain Bruno Fernandes while the rest of his teammates celebrated with Diallo.

Both Bruno Fernandes and Garnacho shared a heartfelt exchange in front of the Old Trafford faithful, with United fans simply loving their wholesome moment together.

Fernandes talks Man Utd vs Coventry City

Speaking after United’s win over Liverpool, Fernandes admitted that United cannot underestimate Coventry City after they caused an FA Cup upset against Wolves.

“Obviously, we’re playing a Championship team and not a Premier League team, but Wolves went out against them,” he said, as per BBC Sport.

“We don’t want to compare ourselves with Wolves, but we have to respect every team that comes here because I remember two seasons ago, we went out against Middlesbrough at home.

“We have to give them the respect they deserve and give our best performance, as we did against Liverpool, and with the same mentality.”
