‘Please, really?’: Pundit stunned after what Tim Sherwood has said about Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham

Pundit Michael Bridges was left stunned by what Tim Sherwood said about Tottenham Hotspur after their defeat at Fulham.

Ange Postecoglou’s men suffered a blow to their top-four hopes with a 3-0 defeat at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Tottenham were way below their best on the night and looked a shadow of the team which had thrashed Aston Villa 4-0 just six days before.

Their latest defeat leaves them three points behind fourth-placed Villa, albeit with a game in hand.

And according to Michael Bridges, Tim Sherwood believes opposition sides have started to work Postecoglou’s Spurs out.

Bridges stunned by Sherwood’s latest Tottenham claim

Speaking on The Optus Sport Podcast, Bridges reacted to Sherwood’s comment after Tottenham’s defeat at Fulham.

“Can I put a question across to both of you then? Tim Sherwood was talking on Optus Sport doing the coverage. He was saying that teams have worked out Ange Postecoglou and Spurs. Please, really? It’s one blip,” he said.

Mark Schwarzer added: “The way that they play is very obvious, everybody knows. Up until this point, nobody has really been able to deal with it to a large degree, preventing them from scoring.

“Fulham did but it was more due to the fact of what we were saying there [Tottenham missing chances].”

Did Fulham expose Postecoglou’s tactics at Tottenham?

While Fulham were by far the better side on Saturday evening, Tottenham fans shouldn’t be too worried about the display.

Spurs struggled against Marco Silva’s side but they still managed to create opportunities.

Indeed, Postecoglou’s men managed 14 shots at goal on the day, with the likes of Heung-min Son, Timo Werner and James Maddison all missing opportunities in front of goal.

It was undoubtedly one of Spurs’ worst performances of the season but the reaction to the game could have been much different had they taken their opportunities.
