'It would be one of my best dreams': Vicario shares the one thing he's desperate to achieve at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has revealed what one of his “best dreams” would be with regards to his achievements at Spurs.

The Tottenham stopper, speaking to the Spurs media team, said he wants his name and picture to be “on the walls of the stadium forever”.

Tottenham are a team in transition following a dismal 2022/23 campaign, but under Ange Postecoglou, they have made major progress.

Spurs were quick out of the starting blocks at the start of the season and remain very much in pursuit of a top-four finish this term, whilst playing exciting and solid football for the most part.

The end-game for Tottenham – indeed, for any Premier League team – will be to consistently win major trophies, something that sadly has eluded Spurs since 2008.

Although Tottenham came close during the Mauricio Pochettino era, they fell short of both the Premier League title and the Champions League.

Now, Spurs are rebuilding under Postecoglou, and there’s some real optimism at the club that wasn’t there for quite a while, except in the form of false dawns.

Guglielmo Vicario dreams of Tottenham Hall of Fame

Vicario has been one of Tottenham’s best signings this season, quickly making a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers.

And speaking about his ambitions at Spurs, Vicario said he wants to be immortalised in the club’s hall of fame.

“I don’t know how much time we have to do something special but we have to stay in,” he said.

“Hopefully to be on the walls of the stadium forever, for eternity, it would be one of my best dreams.”

Vicario’s comments will no doubt go down a treat with the Tottenham faithful. He plans to become one of the greatest players in their history, hopefully with a nice trophy haul along the way.

Spurs have been great this season, and even though it’s not been plain sailing, that’s just part and parcel of being in the Premier League these days. Even Manchester City have lost multiple league games this term.

The key thing is, Tottenham now have a vision and, rather than just passing the buck with an attitude of ‘we’ll get there’, they’re actually doing the work which will go a long way to ensuring they’ll actually get there, and the progress is clear to see.
