Bayern Munich confirm 'amazing' player is out injured for several weeks ahead of Arsenal CL tie

Arsenal are set to face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after the international break.

The Gunners host the Bavarian giants at the Emirates Stadium on 9 April, while the return leg takes place on 17 April.

Arsenal will be eager to finally overcome a club that routinely used to get the better of them in the latter stages of the Champions League.

Now, Bayern look set to be without one of their January signings for a number of weeks, which could include the tie against Arsenal.

The club confirmed on their official website that Sacha Boey has suffered a muscle injury in training and will miss the ‘coming weeks’ of action.

Arsenal previously linked with Bayern Munich ace Sacha Boey

Arsenal were linked with Boey for much of last year, but they didn’t pursue a move for the Frenchman, and Bayern ultimately signed him.

Sadly, the 23-year-old’s first few months at his new club have been hampered by injury.

He missed a number of games due to muscle issues earlier this year, and has made just two appearances to date for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

However, Boey will no doubt come good once his injury issues are behind him. He is a very talented full-back with a high ceiling.

Target Scouting wrote last year that he “is a player with the potential to go anywhere”.

They also said Boey’s “competitive attitude is impeccable” and deemed him a “very interesting player”.

Interestingly, Arsenal cult hero Bacary Sagna called Boey ‘amazing’ a year ago, and urged the Gunners to sign him.

Sadly, the prospect of the Frenchman lining up against a club that could’ve signed him and show them what they’ve missed out on now seems unlikely.
