Arsenal warned Bayern Munich can ‘really hurt’ them in one ‘explosive’ way

Journalist Ale Moreno believes that Bayern Munich will have the edge over Arsenal in their Champions League clash for one reason.

Arsenal will take on Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of this year’s Champions League.

The Gunners have made it to the last eight of Europe’s elite club competition for the first time in 14 years, by virtue of David Raya’s penalty shootout heroics against Porto in the previous round. The north London club will now face a stern test against the German giants.

Arsenal have got a lot of quality, and are heading into this encounter in excellent form. Confidence will be sky high at the Emirates Stadium. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have struggled to impress domestically this season. Mikel Arteta will certainly feel that his side have an excellent chance of reaching the semi-finals, albeit he will know that his players will all have to be at their best. Jamie Carragher is also convinced that Arsenal can beat Bayern Munich.

Do Bayern Munich have an advantage over Arsenal?

Arsenal’s big name players, such as Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and William Saliba will need to stand up and be counted though. None of that quartet have ever competed at this late stage in the Champions League before, and they must now show that they can handle the pressure at this level.

The Bavarian outfit have stars of their own of course. In fact, journalist Gab Marcotti believes that on a player-for-player basis Bayern Munich outclass Arsenal.

Ale Moreno is of a similar opinion, and thinks that the German side’s superstars will give them the edge. Speaking on ESPN, the reporter said, “I’m going to go Bayern Munich. That’s because I find that Bayern Munich, on the individual level, can really hurt Arsenal…An explosive game from Leroy Sane can make a difference, Jamal Musiala the same, and particularly Harry Kane.”

What Arsenal must do at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal will know all about the threat that Harry Kane poses, of course. The striker was a persistent thorn in the Gunners’ side throughout his lengthy stint with their north London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. They are also familiar with the quality of Leroy Sane from his time on the books at Manchester City.

The Arsenal defence has been in a class of its own this year, though. They will back themselves to keep Bayern Munich’s attacking stars at bay. It is absolutely vital that the Gunners make the most of their home game in this tie, though. They will welcome Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium on April 9th. Arsenal will also benefit from the fact that no Bayern Munich fans will be making the trip for this match either. Arteta’s side must take full advantage and ensure that they take an aggregate lead with them to the Allianz Arena.
