'Without a doubt': Former Tottenham scout says £17m Spurs star would be 'tempted' to join Manchester United

The mood around Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are very different these days.

Spurs are on the up under Ange Postecoglou. The Australian has transformed the club and has made them one of the most attractive teams to watch in the Premier League.

Manchester United are on a high following their win against Liverpool, but Erik ten Hag hasn’t done a great job overall, has he? His job is under threat and a number of managers, including Gareth Southgate, have been linked with his job.

One thing Tottenham have done much better than Manchester United recently is recruitment.

Most of their new signings have been brilliant, and former Spurs scout Bryan King believes one of them will be tempted to move to Old Trafford.

Former Tottenham scout says Spurs star would be tempted to join Manchester United

Many Tottenham players have played brilliantly this season. That’s why it’s so hard to pick one name for the Player of the Season award.

James Maddison has been a tremendous signing, as has Micky van de Ven. Skipper Heung-min Son has been fantastic as well, while the likes of Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr and Pedro Porro are delivering too.

If we had to pick one, however, we’d probably say Guglielmo Vicario has been Tottenham’s signing of the season so far.

The Italian, who joined Spurs for just £17 million last year (Sky Sports), has saved Tottenham on so many occasions. Without him, they would be much lower than where they are right now.

Speaking about Vicario, former Spurs scout Bryan King has made a bold claim. He thinks the 27-year-old would be tempted to join Manchester United if they made a move for him this summer.

He told Tottenham Hotspur News: “Andre Onana won’t win Manchester United anything. From United’s perspective, I think they should go out and sign Vicario.

“If they want to spend money, then spend money on players who are proven in the Premier League. Vicario would be tempted by a move to Old Trafford, without a doubt.”

The only reason why Tottenham could consider selling Vicario

If you ask Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou today if he would sell Guglielmo Vicario, he will probably laugh you out of the room.

The Italian is one of the first names on the team sheet for Spurs every week, and it makes no sense for Postecoglou to even consider letting him go.

However, from a business perspective, we don’t think Daniel Levy would be completely against the idea of selling Vicario if a huge offer came in for him.

The Italian, 27, joined the club for just £17 million. He is worth significantly more now, and that’s the only reason why Spurs may consider a massive bid if it arrives.

However, we don’t think Manchester United will make a move for Vicario this summer, and even if they do, it’s extremely unlikely Tottenham will accept it.
