‘It’s true’… Destiny Udogie’s agent has noticed a big change since he moved to Tottenham

The agent of Tottenham Hotspur’s Destiny Udogie has recently spoken about his client following his move to north London.

It has now been almost a full year since the Italian made the move from his homeland to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And it goes without saying he has quickly become one of Ange Postecoglou’s important players in the starting XI.

But his agent has certainly noticed a difference since his client was playing for Udinese in Serie A.

What Destiny Udogie’s agent said

Playing in the Premier League will provide players with a variety of different challenges.

One which has become apparent to Destiny Udogie is the pressure that is on him to win with the Lilywhites.

Although it has been 16 years now since the club have got their hands on any major silverware, the pressure is felt to take home all three points.

Speaking to Italian media, Udogie’s agent, Stefano Antontelli, spoke of the 21-year-old’s time at Tottenham. He said: “He plays in the Premier League, which is the most important league in the world. He’s a starter at Tottenham at the age of 21, it’s normal that his price gets a certain value. I read that for TransferRoom, his price is worth €59m (£50.4m), a figure derived from algorithms… He’s an important player.

“Every day we’re in discussions and he knows that to be a protagonist in that league, you have to be at 110% from all points of view. It’s an extreme league, both in quality and physicality. There’s no press there to criticise you like in Italy, it’s true, it’s more focused on gossip, but you don’t win with Tottenham, it’s felt. There is pressure for them too, not winning is a problem. So far, he has played 24 games as a starter and is doing well.”

Jamie Redknapp slammed Udogie’s display vs Fulham

It has largely been a successful first season in the Premier League for the Italian who has become a regular under Postecoglou.

Barring injury, Udogie has been the mainstay at left-back for Tottenham and has already racked up 26 appearances across all competitions.

In those games, the 21-year-old has returned two goals and three assists.

However, the last outing against Fulham was one the Italian will want to quickly put behind them.

No Spurs player came out of that game at Craven Cottage with much credit as Marco Silva’s side turned Spurs over in a 3-0 rout.

Speaking after the game, Jamie Redknapp tore into Udogie’s defending for Fulham’s second goal of the night.

He said: “But this bit of defending – and I’ve loved Destiny Udogie this year, magnificent – but this baffles me at how easily he gets beat here.”

It is hard to defend Udogie’s display against Fulham, but he is still just 21-years-old and still in his first season in England.

These types of performances may crop up every now and again as he continues his development.

But his time with Tottenham has been largely positive since he landed in the summer from Udinese.
