Arsenal talent reveals Bayern Munich star is his 'best friend', they speak every day

Arsenal starlet Mika Biereth is shining on loan at Sturm Graz, and is quickly becoming a well-known figure in footballing circles.

Biereth is gaining attention as a result of his excellent campaign this season, initially at Motherwell before joining Sturm Graz in January, and the Arsenal youngster is following the path of Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund.

The striker joined Arsenal from Fulham’s academy and is well acquainted with some of Europe’s top talents.

Arsenal have been drawn against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and this means they will come up against a sensational young talent in midfielder Jamal Musiala, and Biereth knows him very well.

Mika Biereth is “best friends” with Jamal Musiala

Speaking to Danish outlet Tipsbladet, Biereth revealed that the Germany star is his best friend, having developed together in Chelsea’s academy.

“Jamal Musiala is my best friend. We grew up together and went to school together. I played with him at Chelsea. He really is like a brother to me and we are in touch every single day,” he stated.

“I actually spoke to him 10 minutes before this interview. I wished him congratulations on the fact that he will be playing in number 10 for Germany at the European Championships.

“Our relationship is not so much about football. Of course we talk about football and support each other, but most of the time we talk about everything else.

“As I said, we rarely talk about football, and I actually think it helps to keep us sharp. Often you get sucked deep into all this football nonsense, and it’s nice to have someone you can talk about everything else with.”

Whilst Biereth will not be in attendance to see his best friend play against his club, Musiala will be a player who attracts a lot of interest when he features at the Emirates Stadium.

Musiala now looks set to sign a new contract at Bayern, which will end any chances of a transfer elsewhere, including to Arsenal, who were reportedly keeping tabs on him earlier this season.

The German midfielder is a player Mikel Arteta’s side will have to be wary of, as he is capable of damaging the Gunners in the final third.
