Ange Postecoglou calls up 18-year-old midfielder to Tottenham first-team training during international break

Ange Postecoglou will be putting his Tottenham Hotspur players through their paces during the international break.

Off the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Fulham last weekend, Tottenham will be aiming to bounce back against Luton Town next time out.

Spurs will be without a host of their star players over the next week, with Ange Postecoglou working with a smaller group due to the international break.

It will allow the Aussie boss to work with players like Yves Bissouma, who has been struggling for form in recent weeks.

But Postecoglou will also get the chance to take a closer look at some of Tottenham’s academy players and Rio Kyerematen has been training with the first team at Hotspur Way.

Kyerematen spotted in first-team training

In a picture posted on Tottenham’s social media channels, Kyerematen can be spotted training amongst the group.

The youngster was pictured on the ball while being closed down by Timo Werner.

Kyerematen has racked up 15 appearances for the Under-21s this season, netting one goal and providing an assist in the process.

The youngster operates as a midfielder and at just 18, he’s earned 11 caps for England’s U17s and U18s.

While the talented youngster is yet to make his debut for Spurs, he was also spotted in first-team training back in October.

When is Tottenham’s next game?

Tottenham return to Premier League action on Saturday, March 30 as they host Luton.

It kicks off what is a favourable run of fixtures for Postecoglou as Spurs travel to West Ham three days later before hosting Nottingham Forest the following weekend.

Spurs will be aware of the need to pick up positive results during this run as they face consecutive games against Newcastle, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool thereafter.

With 10 games left to play in the Premier League, Tottenham sit three points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, albeit with a game in hand.
