Erling Haaland has provided a fresh update about his fitness after he was spotted limping in Norway training

Erling Haaland has given an update on his fitness after rumours started to circulate that he had picked up an injury at the international break.

All eyes are on Manchester City’s upcoming contest against Arsenal and the prospect of losing Haaland to injury would have handed the visitors a massive boost at the Etihad Stadium.

A video of the 23-year-old surfaced online where he was spotted limping in training for Norway. Despite trying to walk off the knock he had sustained, it seemed like the City striker had suffered an injury far too painful for him to continue to train.

While Julian Alvarez would be a quality replacement for the Leeds-born goalscorer, the Sky Blues would ideally want their best players on the pitch in a game as important as the one against Arsenal.

The worst-case scenario would have been if Haaland was set to miss a majority of City’s upcoming fixtures in the league, handing Arteta and Klopp’s sides a major advantage in the title fight.

However, Erling Haaland has appeased all such fears by confirming that he is fit for Norway’s upcoming contest against the Czech Republic and the rumours about him suffering an injury were false.

“I feel good and am ready to play the match”, he said, as quoted by journalist Joe Bray.

“I’m feeling fine. I didn’t walk off the training. I don’t know who wrote that. I trained a full training session. [Pep Guardiola said], ‘If one of you comes back not fresh, I will come after you.’

Manchester City fans worldwide can breathe a sigh of relief that Erling Haaland has not suffered an injury and has a chance to get on the scoresheet for Norway to further boost his confidence ahead of the crunch tie against Arsenal.

Considering how much of a heavyweight battle it is set to be between both clubs in April, it would have been a shame to witness one of, if not the best players from either side be unavailable through injury.
