Paqueta makes big statement about Moyes after talk of discontent

There has been much talk and rumour that Lucas Paqueta does not enjoying playing for David Moyes at West Ham.

David Moyes indirectly criticised West Ham talisman Lucas Paqueta for his performance in defeat at Freiburg.

He’d substituted him during a below par display at Everton prior to that.

And Paqueta then threw something of a tantrum when substituted in West Ham’s 5-0 second leg victory over Freiburg at the London Stadium.

Talk Paqueta doesn’t enjoy playing Moyes-ball

West Ham’s Brazilian magnifico was also subbed off again in the draw with Aston Villa.

A journalist claimed earlier this month that West Ham’s best hope of keeping Paqueta amid interest from Man City would be a change of manager.

Because, it has been reported by various sites previously, the playmaker allegedly doesn’t enjoy Moyes’ style of play and approach.

Paqueta took to social media to re-post a series of stats and facts highlighting his statistical importance to the Hammers.

Brazilian thinks West Ham boss is magnifico

Some saw it as a message of sorts to the manager.

But now West Ham star Paqueta has made a big statement about Moyes in a Brazil press conference.

And although Paqueta’s future may well lay at Man City down the line, he has made his feelings perfectly clear about ‘special’ Moyes.

“My relationship with David Moyes is very good,” Paqueta said during a Brazil press conference in sunny St Albans, as reported by The Evening Standard.

‘He was special for me’

“It is a healthy relationship (between Moyes and I). We talked about this (FA investigation). He wanted me on the team because of what I did last season.

“Without a shadow of doubt, the support he gave me to leave all this behind, it was essential.

“He was special for me and his support was important for me. He said he wanted me playing in the team – that confidence was very important for me.”

That doesn’t sound like a player who is unhappy with his manager to me.
