Celtic battle with Premier League clubs to sign 20 G/A forward, they've watched him in action

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has altered his side’s style of play since returning as he continues to build a squad in his own image at Parkhead.

Come the summer, the Irishman will have to make some tough decisions about who to keep around and which players he feels the need to sell to avoid having a bloated group present at Lennoxtown.

Of course, Rodgers has already allowed the likes of David Turnbull, Alexandro Bernabei and Liel Abada, albeit for off-field reasons, to leave the club, creating space for new arrivals once pre-season rolls around.

Experienced goalkeeper Joe Hart is also set to retire once the campaign concludes, making a new man between the sticks a central priority for our recruitment team.

Recent reports have claimed that RC Waalwijk stopper Ettienne Vaessen is on the Bhoys’ radar, with the added carrot that he is available on a free transfer in a matter of months, which has also attracted attention from PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord.

The 28-year-old would be a financially shrewd addition, but whether the Scottish Premiership champions make a move remains to be seen.

Loanees Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo are two other men whom Celtic will need to decide on amid uncertainty over their long-term futures at the club.

The latter is believed to have a buyout clause in the region of £6.4 million, though there is a scenario where we may look to negotiate the fee in question.

Celtic are now tracking Vitoria Guimaraes attacker Jota Silva

According to HITC, Celtic are tracking Vitoria Guimaraes forward Jota Silva, who is also being courted by the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth and Brentford.

Sky Bet Championship clubs Leicester City and Southampton are also keen on the 24-year-old. The outlet claim the Bhoys have already watched Silva in action this term alongside rival competitors for his signature.

Silva has been called up for Portugal and could make his senior international debut for the Selecao at some point during their friendly double-header against Sweden and Slovenia.

The Gondomar-born man has been in excellent form this campaign, registering 13 goals and seven assists in 32 appearances across all competitions [Transfermarkt].

Per Sofascore, Silva has created six big chances in Liga Portugal alongside averaging around three shots on goal per fixture, making him a dangerous threat off either flank or through the middle.

No potential fee is mentioned regarding the Hoops’ interest in the versatile forward; however, his name will remind Celtic fans of a similar Portuguese forward who had quite the impact at Parkhead.
