Spurs now have great opportunity to sign 'magic' £34m left-footer likened to Maradona, he'd light up N17 - opinion

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a good season so far, with Champions League qualification still very much on the cards.

Admittedly, it’s not been plain sailing for Spurs, with some poor displays and results, such as last week.

However, for the most part, Tottenham have improved massively from last season’s really disappointing eight-placed finish.

Ange Postecoglou has really cleaned house at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the future looks bright for Spurs.

The summer transfer window is likely to bring more incomings for Tottenham, who have certainly made the most of the last two windows.

More attacking reinforcements could well be on the cards for Spurs, who will not only need more quality, but also strength in depth if they make it into Europe.

Tottenham were linked with Matias Soule ahead of January transfer window

One player who’d certainly be a good shout for Tottenham is Matias Soule, who has been lighting up Serie A this term.

Spurs were linked with the 20-year-old ahead of the January transfer window, as per Calciomercato. However, nothing came of the speculation.

Although there hasn’t been much speculation linking Tottenham with Soule of late, the player has now revealed that he dreams of a Premier League move.

“My dream is to play in Premier League one day, it’s just a fantastic league,” the Juventus man – on loan at Frosinone – told DS Radio, via Fabrizio Romano’s X account.

Why Matias Soule would be a good signing for Tottenham

Soule is a left-footed player, and with Ivan Perisic no longer at Tottenham, Spurs certainly could do with more left-footers.

His age means he’s got his whole career ahead of him, and considering he’s already impressing in Serie A, it’s clear that his ceiling is very high.

Soule has registered an impressive 10 goals from just 27 Serie A appearances for the central Italian outfit.

There have also been comparisons between the young Argentine and South American legends Diego Maradona and Zico.

Claudio Ranieri is quoted by Tuttomercatoweb as saying: “When you have champions like Soule who shoot like Maradona or Zico, you just have to applaud him.”

Better still, Soule is reportedly valued at £34million, so he wouldn’t break the bank for Tottenham.

Spurs have enjoyed shopping in Serie A in recent years, and now they have a great opportunity to give another Italy-based prodigy the chance to realise his Premier League dream.
