Bowen fires bullish warning to Leverkusen after what he's been hearing

Underestimate West Ham at your peril is Jarrod Bowen’s bullish warning to Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the big quarter-final clash.

If you listen to some so-called European football experts West Ham shouldn’t even bother contesting their Europa League quarter-final with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Hammers have been given little to no hope of making it past the Germans.

That’s despite West Ham possessing one of the best attacking trios in Europe.

Bowen well aware of West Ham’s underdog status

Of course it’ll be no easy task for David Moyes and his side.

Bayer Leverkusen are remarkably still unbeaten in all competitions. And Xabi Alonso is on course to lead them to the Bundesliga title.

West Ham’s last eight opponents are a superb side riding the crest of a wave.

But one Hammers star has already noted how dismissive the media are being of his side’s chances.

Star warns against underestimating experienced Hammers

Jarrod Bowen has fired a bullish warning to Bayer Leverkusen after what he’s been hearing about West Ham.

West Ham’s top scorer fully respects Leverkusen.

But he’s warned it’s risky to underestimate the Irons.

“Leverkusen are probably one of the best sides left in the Europa League,” Bowen told West Ham’s website.

‘Beat the best to be the best’ says Bowen

“But if you want to be successful you have to beat the best, and we’ll go into the two games with a lot of confidence.

“We’ve gained lots of experience in Europe over the last three seasons, including this one, which will hopefully stand us in good stead. In the league we’re competing to qualify for Europe for a fourth season in a row, so there’s lots to play for on every front and it’s going to be a really exciting few months.”

One European football expert has suggested West Ham could face Leverkusen at the perfect time.

It seems Alonso himself is not underestimating the Hammers.

And there are four major plus points for West Ham about the tough draw.
