Brutal 15-person brawl breaks out in street as man strikes another with plank of wood

A group of fighting men in the middle of a street were likened to WWE wrestlers after a plank of wood was used as a weapon during a mass brawl.

Up to 15 thugs battled in the ugly clash as cars were forced to stop as the fighting spilled into the roads. The shocking scenes in a residential area with the men pushing and shoving each other. One then smacks another over the head with the flat lump of wood before he dropped it on the ground.

It is then picked up by another one of the fighting mob. But one is then seen carrying what appears to be a hard suitcase across the road and hurls it at a rival. The man he aimed it at had been lying in the road and then tried to climb over a barrier by the side of the street.

The man who picked up the plank of wood then used to hit another across the back. It happened in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham on Wednesday evening. The terrifying brawl began in Ivor Road, before spilling into Showell Green Lane and Stratford Road.

One local said: "Hyena tactics as usual, five on one. Why have they got planks of wood? He likened them to a WWE wrestler who used to hit rivals with a piece of 2x4 inch timber The 80s and '90s star used to shout 'Hoooooo' at them after using the piece of wood as a weapon in the ring,

"Hacksaw Jim Duggan wannabes," he added. A second said: "Birmingham is really in the pits." Another - called Graham - joked: "Medieval reenactment?" West Midlands Police has been approached for comment.
