Conservative commentator and sometimes-pusher of antisemitic conspiracy theories, Candace Owens, has been fired from her role at the Daily Wire, according to a post to X by the outlet's co-founder Jeremy Boreing.

"Daily Wire and Candace Owens have ended their relationship," Boreing wrote Friday, setting off a wave of speculation that Owens' firing was due to her recent comments about Jews in Hollywood, as well as other controversial statements she's made.

Owens confirmed the news, writing in a post on X, “The rumors are true— I am finally free.”

Owens sparked outrage after going on a rant about "Jewish gangs" that terrorize Hollywood, and made repeated statements about the Israel-Hamas war in the wake of the terror attacks inside Israel on Oct. 7 that caused her to clash with Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro, who is an Orthodox Jew. In one viral clip, Shapiro called her views "disgraceful."

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other,” Owens said at the time, in reference to the viral clip of Shapiro. “You cannot serve both God and money."

“Candace, if you feel that taking money from The Daily Wire somehow comes between you and God, by all means quit,” Shapiro replied.

Owens also was the subject of backlash after she liked a post on X that said Jews drink the blood of Christians -- an age-old antisemitic conspiracy theory. She also defended rapper Kanye West after he threatened to launch “death con 3” against Jewish people.

Owens' conspiracy theories were not just limited to Jews. She recently claimed that Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, is a man and not the mother of her children from a previous marriage.

“After looking into this, I would stake my entire professional reputation on the fact that Brigitte Macron is in fact a man,” Owens said on X.
