Surprise Konstantinos Mavropanos claim made just 7 months into his West Ham career

Konstantinos Mavropanos joined West Ham United from Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart back in August of 20223.

West Ham boss David Moyes brought Konstantinos Mavropanos to the London Stadium for around £17 million, and that now looks like a great deal for us.

The 26-year-old centre-back has firmly established himself at the heart of our defence, and has usurped Nayef Aguerd.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Mavropanos is an absolute unit. He is dominant in the air, and extremely strong in the tackle.

Yes, he does make the odd mistake, but I’m sure he’ll iron that out of his game as he matures and gains further experience in the Premier League.

I actually think the Greece international is the best centre-back we have at the club. He’s streets ahead of Aguerd, and Kurt Zouma as well, after the painful physical regression of the Frenchman.

I like Mavropanos a lot, but now a really surprise claim has been made about him…

Surprise claim made about West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos

The former Arsenal and Stuttgart centre-back has already really impressed the West Ham fans, aside from the odd error here and there.

Moyes is clearly a very big fan of Dinos as well, and praised him for the way that he has settled into life in the Premier League.

I think he’ll go on to be a great player for us, if he remains at the London Stadium for a long time still to come.

At 26, he probably won’t reach his prime as a centre-back for at least another three years, so that’s a really exciting prospect.

However, it appears as though he could leave West Ham if one of the European giants get their way…

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition March 22nd, page 8), Inter Milan are eyeing up a move to sign the Hammers central defender in the summer, to replace veteran defender Francesco Acerbi.

Now, I would be hugely surprised if West Ham were open to selling Konstantinos Mavropanos, but stranger things have happened, and the pull of a club like Inter Milan cannot be underestimated.

I still think we’ll keep hold of him for another season at least, but it will be one to keep a close eye on this summer nonetheless.
