Diogo Jota says 23-year-old is actually the fittest player at Liverpool now

Liverpool are one of the fittest teams in world football.

Jurgen Klopp’s style of play is so demanding, and that means that all of the Reds’ key players have to be in tip-top condition if they are to make it at Liverpool.

The likes of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez are in ridiculous shape and cover so much ground in every single game.

However, according to Diogo Jota, there’s another player at Anfield who is the fittest at the club.

Dominik Szoboszlai is the fittest player at Liverpool

Speaking to Bleacher Report on TikTok, Jota has been discussing some of his teammates, and when asked who has the most stamina, he picked Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian is a technical marvel, but he’s also immense physically, covering every blade of grass, combining an incredible engine with fantastic pace.

“Best stamina?” Jota was asked.

“Szoboszlai,” Jota said.

Szoboszlai is super fit

Jota isn’t wrong, Szoboszlai is one of the fittest players at Liverpool.

In pre-season the 23-year-old was the standout player in the Reds’ famous lactate test – previously dominated by James Milner, and every time he steps onto the pitch you can see just how fit he is.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Szoboszlai’s fitness has been praised. A few months ago Adam Bogdan spoke highly of Szoboszlai’s fitness, claiming that he’s been shocked by just how fit the midfielder is.

“I didn’t expect that he would be so fit. I knew they were technically aware in Germany, and his sheer talent is phenomenal, but I didn’t expect him to play all four games and not be substituted. There’s much more to come,” Bogdan said.

Liverpool knew they were signing a technically brilliant player when they landed Szoboszlai this summer, but they’ve also grabbed a truly incredible athlete here.
