As actress Cameron Diaz and her husband Benji Madden welcome baby number two we're taking a look back at their love story from their sweet meet to their whirlwind wedding.
The beloved Hollywood actress and Good Charlotte guitarist have been been married for almost a decade now and are still going strong. The pair recently shared the exciting announcement that they welcomed a "really cute" baby boy named Cardinal Madden, marking their second child together. This came as a shock to fans as the two managed to keep low profile the past nine months with nobody suspecting Cameron was pregnant.
As the two lovebirds enter a new exciting milestone in their relationship, we're looking back at their 10-year-old long romance in the public eye from when they first laid eyes on each other at a BBQ to their speedy journey to tying the knot.

Cameron and Benji's love story first began back in May of 2014 after meeting through mutual friends. The two were connected as Cameron was close friends with actress Nicole Richie and her husband, Joel, was Benji’s twin brother and bandmate in their famous rock band Good Charlotte. The two were first introduced during a BBQ and it seemed to be love at first sight for the Charlie's Angels star.
In an interview on Anna Faris’s Unqualified podcast, Cameron admitted the second she walked through the door she was captivated by Benji. Cameron recalled: “I met mine [husband] through my now sister-in-law and brother-in-law, I met them first and then they didn’t set us up but we were in the same room because of them, and then we found each other. I was like, ‘How come I didn’t see him before?'
She continued: "I saw him walking towards me, and I was like, ‘Huh, he’s hot, I haven’t seen him before.'" And later added: “But then when I saw him, like who he was, that’s what made me really be like, ‘Oh you, you’re special, you’re the guy, you’re the hidden gem in my life.’”
The pair then found themselves head-over-heels for once another and within just six months Benji got down on one knee and asked Cameron to spend forever with him. While the couple kept their romance hidden at first, engagement rumours soon sparked and they officially announced the exciting news during Christmas.
And after only announcing their engagement the month before, the couple said "I do" that January. The two exchanged vows in a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony at their Beverly Hills mansion surrounded by their closest friends and family. The pair were married in their own living room and then had a little party in their backyard on their tennis court. Some of Cameron's closest Hollywood besties were in attendance at the small gathering including Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette.
During her wedding speech, 42-year-old Cameron reportedly said: "I waited because I didn't want to settle, and now I got the best man ever. My special man. He's mine.” Later the couple shared a joint statement and said: "We couldn’t be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends.”
Now, the pair have welcomed their second child to their growing family and shared the exciting announcement with their fans. In a joint Instagram post, they wrote: "He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here! For the kids safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures- but he’s really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our fam to yours. Best wishes and Good Afternoon!!”
