21-year-old Liverpool player is seriously going under the radar right now, he's just shown why - opinion

Jurgen Klopp has been blessed by a plethora of exciting young talent coming through the ranks at Anfield. It is no exaggeration to say that this is one of the best generations of young players coming through at Liverpool in the club’s Premier League era.

Time and time again Liverpool’s young stars have stepped into the first team and immediately caught the eye. From Jarell Quansah becoming Liverpool’s rotation centre-back to Conor Bradley, establishing himself as the long sought after competition Trent Alexander-Arnold needed at right-back.

More recently, it has been the likes of Bobby Clark making great impressions in the first team and really setting new standards. Others like James McConnell have also caught the eye. Meanwhile, the emergence of Lewis Koumas and Jayden Danns, who have both scored for Liverpool has also been really exciting.

But while there have been plenty who have caught the eye at Liverpool this season, there is one who has instead been catching the eye away from the club. He too is really highly rated by Klopp and is going seriously under the radar at the moment.

Why Tyler Morton is going under the radar this season

Morton is on his second loan spell in the Championship at the moment. Last season he caught the eye at Blackburn Rovers. This time around he has impressed for Hull City pushing the club towards a promotion fight.

But while at Blackburn, Morton stood-out defensively, for Hull he has been playing in more advanced positions and thriving even more. So far this season he has seven goal contributions in the Championship, which is the third joint highest among central midfielders 21-years-old or younger in the competition. Only Luke Cundle and Jordan James have made more contributions with eight in total.

But it’s not just in the Championship where Morton has caught the eye. He has also been impressing at U21 level for England. He made his debut for his national team earlier this season coming on as a substitute against Serbia’s U21 side.

Then on his first start, Morton registered a goal and an assist against Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, this week he followed that up on his second and third appearance for the U21 side with two assists against Azerbaijan.

He’s clearly in great form, and someone who has already played a handful of games for Liverpool at first team level, including in the Champions League against AC Milan at the San Siro. The conversation may be around the current exciting young players coming through, but come pre-season Morton should not be underestimated – he still very much has a future at Anfield.
