'Going to come to a head': Arsenal expected to sell £24m player to raise funds for new striker - journalist

Arsenal will go again this summer as they look to strengthen the ranks with both incomings and outgoings.

The Gunners have been active in all but the last recent transfer windows. Mikel Arteta has spent a fortune assembling his squad and has a chance of winning the title right now.

For Arsenal, it’s all about keeping on progressing. A new striker is expected to be the main priority, with the likes ofIvan Toney, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres all on their radar.

However, in order to sign one of those strikers, the Gunners will need to sell. And according to reports, that could mean the end of the line for one£24m signing.

Arsenal expected to sell first-teamer to fund new striker

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has spoken on the future of goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

And according to Sheth, the sale of Ramsdale is going to come to a head this summer for a number of reasons.

“Publicly, Arsenal aren’t going to say anything while they’re in the midst of trying to get to the title and now the Champions League of course as well. But it is obviously going to come to a head in the summer because Arsenal will have to generate money as well like any other club before they go into the market to dry and bring in players. Ramsdale is an England international. If he wants to continue being an England international, come the summer, it’s going to have to be a situation where not just for him, but just for his career really, he’s going to need to get first-team football,” Sheth said.

Aaron Ramsdale needs to leave Arsenal

After initially dislodging Bernd Leno as Arsenal’s number one, Aaron Ramsdale now finds himself in the same situation with David Raya.

Unfortunately, this is only going to end one way, unless Ramsdale simply fancies still being at the club and being a number two.

For his career and England prospects, Ramsdale needs to leave the club. The Gunners have been good for him but Raya is the number one, and will remain so at least into next season.

Any number of clubs will take Ramsdale off Arsenal’s hands you feel. It just feels a case of when, rather than if.

Sadly for Ramsdale, it does appear his time at the Arsenal is coming to an end.
