Jakub Kiwior says player who left Arsenal for £10m can barely watch their matches anymore

Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has now shared that one of the club’s former players can barely watch their games these days.

Kiwior is currently away with Poland, preparing for a tie against Wales on Tuesday which will decide one of the remaining places at the Euros.

And just as he will be with Kiwior, Mikel Arteta will be watching on praying that none of his Arsenal players return to the Emirates with an injury.

Both Gabriel Magalhaes and Bukayo Saka have already returned with issues, even if neither are thought to be at risk of missing the tie with Manchester City.

It’s a huge match for the club, a chance to not only gain huge ground in the title race, but also an opportunity to pass a mental test, ridding the sour taste left after defeat at the Etihad at a similar point of last season.

A true six-pointer, and one that Jakub Kiwior will be hoping to retain his place for at left-back.

That being said, whilst away with Poland playing as a central defender, Kiwior has shared what former Arsenal man Wojciech Szczesny recently told him.

Jakub Kiwior says Wojciech Szczesny is finding Arsenal games too stressful to watch

Kiwior was speaking to TVP Sport in his homeland and shared that Szczesny isn’t able to watch Arsenal games right now because he finds them too stressful.

The goalkeeper, who left Arsenal for £10m in 2020 to Juventus, remains a fan of the club and is finding the title-race a little too tough to watch.

Kiwior explained: “When I arrived at the training camp, I met Wojciech and he told me: ‘win, win.’

“He said he couldn’t watch Arsenal matches because he was nervous and stressed.”

And whilst it hasn’t quite got to that point for most Arsenal fans just yet, they may be close to sharing Szczesny’s approach next weekend.

It’s going to be so interesting to see how Arteta does set up his Arsenal team, and Kiwior certainly won’t want to watch on from the bench.

And in truth, he should be set to keep his spot on an evening in which the Gunners need to be at their defensive best.

And although Oleksandr Zinchenko offers so much creatively, he’s less reliable than the Poland international at the back.

All that being said, Arsenal would be well-advised to sign a ‘powerful’ defender to boost their squad next season.
