Report: Todd Boehly has decided he wants to sell £37m Chelsea player at the end of the season

Reports have claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly already knows of one player he wants to sell at the end of the season.

According to The Sun, there are a number of Blues players who are playing for their careers at Stamford Bridge in the next few months.

While signings have been a regular occurrence at Chelsea since Boehly took over as owner, there has been a need to sell first team players in order to counter this.

Chelsea need to sell this summer

There are some players who are currently out on loan from the club that there have been efforts to sell in the past, however for differing reasons have not been able to so far.

One of those is Romelu Lukaku, who has rediscovered his goalscoring touch back in Italy, although this time at Roma.

He has continued to find the net in Europe, with his performances in the Europa League in particular catching the eye of many Chelsea fans watching on with envy.

Boehly wants Lukaku to leave

There was a big effort to sell him last summer, with it only really looking as if a move to Saudi Arabia would provide the Blues a transfer fee.

Nevertheless, it has now been reported that the owner is still keen for him to leave the club at the end of the season on a permanent basis.

It has previously been claimed that a fee of around £37m is what the Blues are hoping to bring in if he was to be sold.

The transfer to bring in Lukaku, which at the time was a record for the club, is likely to go down as one of their worst additions in their history, and a mistake they will look to make sure doesn’t happen again if they address the position themselves this summer.

They have been linked with a number of big names if they decide they can spend big on a new striker, with Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres two of the players linked with the switch.
