March athletes well represented at Cambs AA Road League and Thorney 10k

March Athletic Club members were out in full force at the Cambs AA Road League and Thorney 10k.

The event was a huge success with 17 March runners on the course.

The conditions were tough with strong winds during the race.

However, that didn't stop Andy Cole who was first home for March AC, winning his age category in 37:52.

Mark Godfrey followed closely after in 37:58 - a 10km PB.

Tim Brammer was third home for the club in 40:06.

Michelle Prior was first home for the ladies in 44:49 followed by Tricia Cole who continued her superb run of form breaking the 50-minute mark.

Nicola Knightly was third back for the ladies making her way around the course in 1:03:29 to mark a successful block of training.

Elsewhere, March AC had runners gearing up to take on one of running's toughest challenges; the marathon.

Kanina O'Neil-Head performed at the highest level once again completing the Twin Lakes 20 miler in 02:16:49 to achieve another age category win and was placed as second lady.

At the Oundle 20 miler, three March AC runners competed.

Jason Mottram was first home for the club in 2:50:21.

Karen Patterson and Mike Blackledge followed with both runners proving their determination to finish the race despite injury problems.

Patterson finished in 3:04:48 and Blackledge completed the hilly course in 3:08:27.
