No top three spot for Leverington Sports after defeat at Warboys Town

Fifth-place Leverington Sports missed out on the chance to overtake fellow Peterborough League Premier Division title contenders Warboys Town in third place when they lost 3-0 on their travels on Saturday.

And at the other end of the table, Tydd slip to bottom place after a 6-0 thrashing at Crowland Town, five of the goals coming after the break.

There were defeats for both Fenland sides in Division One action also, third-place Chatteris Town going down 2-1 at second-place Peterborough City and bottom side Wisbech Town Reserves losing 3-2 at home to Stilton United.

Martin Saunders scored for Chatteris, who had James Cooper sent off for two bookable offences, while Matthew Scott and Claudiu Simon netted for Wisbech.

In Division Two, Leverington Sports Reserves beat Stamford Belvedere Reserves 4-2, with Conor Bird netting twice and Brandon Carpenter and sub Marley Woods also on target.

Fourth-place Sutton Bridge United lost 4-3 at home to second-place Hampton, Joseph Sutton netting twice and Jake Lally also on target, while Tydd Reserves were beaten 4-2 at home to Warboys Town Reserves.

Long Sutton Athletic Reserves’ miserable season in Division Three continued with a 4-0 home defeat by Bourne Town A and in Division Four, Leverington Sports A beat Cardea Reserves 3-1, Mariusz Kudyba scoring twice and Wesley Stokes also on target.

Wisbech St Mary sit third from bottom of the Cambs County League Premier Division after a 7-1 thrashing at Newmarket Town Reserves, where Keenan Hall scored. In Senior B, Wimblington are up to second after a 3-1 home win against Histon Reserves, Alexander Knowles scoring twice and Rory Parker also on target.

Benwick Athletic (Christchurch) drew 2-2 with March Town A in 1B, subs Ross Alexander and Dillon Stevens scoring for Athletic, while Chatteris Town Reserves drew 1-1 with Alconbury, Charlie Munns on target.

Manea United lost 5-0 at home to Littleport Town in 2B but Outwell Swifts are now 11 points from a promotion place with six games in hand after winning 5-2 at St Ives Town A., Brandon Hedge getting a hat-trick and Richard Mills and Kain Ward also on target.

Wisbech St Mary Reserves’ promotion hopes took a jolt though with a 3-2 home defeat against Papworth, Jamie Leet and Joshua Putterill on target. There was a better result for third-place Wisbech St Mary A in the four-way battle for promotion in 4B as they drew 3-3 at leaders Alconbury Weston, Martin Wright netting twice and Willis Wright also on target but Jaden Carter sent off.

In the same division, March Academy beat Manea United Reserves 5-0, Jack Conyard helping himself to three goals and Thomas Denston and Benjamin Watson also on target. Wisbech Town Acorns won 3-0 at bottom side Outwell Swifts Reserves, Daniel Balls, Richard Tarcsai and Derren Singleton scoring.

Marshland Saints Reserves beat Watlington Sports & Social Club Development 5-1 after trailing at the break in their North West Norfolk League Division Two fixture,.
