'Now' - former Man Utd manager breaks silence over his future as he makes it clear what fans can expect next

Former Manchester United and Roma manager Jose Mourinho has provided an important update on his future after being out of management since January.

Jose Mourinho was sacked from Serie A side Roma after the Italian side struggled with their league form and their exit from the Coppa Italia at the hands of Lazio.

Roma legend Daniele De Rossi replaced Mourinho at the club until the end of the season, with the former Manchester United boss’ managerial future left in doubt.

Former Roma head coach Mourinho had been linked with an immediate return to management, including receiving a lucrative offer to manage in Saudi Arabia.

However, the 61-year-old Portuguese manager has been patiently waiting on the sideline, with Mourinho ruling out an early retirement in his legendary career.

Despite being out of the managerial dugout, Mourinho has kept himself busy and actively appeared in the limelight for different events.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss was in Riyadh earlier this month for Anthony Joshua’s spectacular knockout win over Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

Netflix has also confirmed that Mourinho, who managed at Old Trafford from 2016 to 2018, will be the subject of a hotly anticipated documentary series in 2025.

Ex-Man Utd boss Mourinho on return

Jose Mourinho was in attendance for the Portuguese Grand Prix in Portimao, with the ‘Special One’ visiting the Ducati garage before the start of the MotoGP race.

The ex-Inter Milan and Roma boss also waved the checkered flag at the end of the MotoGP race, with Mourinho appearing in lively spirits at the event in Portimao.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Mourinho insisted that he is “free” after his sacking from Roma and has been enjoying his time out of the managerial dugout.

But the ‘Special One,’ who has been linked with Bayern Munich in recent weeks, admitted that he is ready to make his return to management in the summer.

“Now I’m free, but in the summer, I want to coach,” Mourinho said.

“It’s going well in Portugal, too.”

Mourinho responds to former Roma sporting director

Former Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto previously claimed that Mourinho was “demanding” to work under and he had “learned a lot from him.”

Speaking to The i in March, he said: “Don’t get me wrong, when you work with a man with such a huge profile, it’s demanding. And he is demanding because he has achieved so much and has high standards.

“Don’t forget that I’m Portuguese and I started to work with him when I was 36. For a young sporting director to work normally with Mourinho, it’s not possible.

Tiago Pinto added: “I learned a lot from him. He’s one of the most important managers in the history of football.”

Mourinho made his feelings clear on Pinto, who previously spoke about his loyalty to the former United boss and the dismissal of the ‘Special One’ from Roma.

“I’m not interested in reading or listening to his words,” he told Sport TV.

“What if we will ever work together again? Certainly not.”
