Tyson Fury dealt 'the hard truth' as boxing feud reopened ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

Carl Froch has dealt 'the hard truth' to Tyson Fury ahead of the mega undisputed boxing fight against Oleksandr Usyk in May.

Froch has reopened his feud with the Fury family after getting involved in a slanging match with Tyson's father John earlier this year.

The Gypsy King will enter the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 18 as he aims to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion this century.

WBA, IFB and WBO champion Usyk stands in his way as the pair put their unbeaten professional boxing records on the line.

Fury has won 34 of his 35 fights, drawing the first of his trilogy against Deontay Wilder, and currently holds the WBC heavyweight title.

But Froch questioned the Brit's resume earlier in 2024, insisting his list of past opponents isn't that impressive.

Less than two months before Fury and Usyk battle it out, the Cobra has given another strong verdict on the 35-year-old.

He has doubled down with his opinion about Fury's career and insists the reaction to his criticism came about because 'they don't like to hear' it.

Fury told Lucky Block: "I was asked about Tyson Fury's resume and I'll just give an honest answer.

"His best wins are Klitschko, who was 40 years old. I don't need to repeat it.

"He's beaten four world champions. He had three great fights with Deontay Wilder, but didn't win all three of them.

"But that's your resume? Deontay Wilder, Klitschko, and a guy called Steve Cunningham. Who was a pumped-up cruiserweight who dropped Fury.

"And he struggled against Otto Wallin. The fight could have been stopped, but he still won.

"The problem with people is that they don't like to hear criticism sometimes. And I'm very honest. It's the hard truth."

Froch doubts whether Fury has the desire to win the undisputed clash. He added: "The plan is May 18th.

"The unification of heavyweight titles, that’s not happened since Lennox Lewis in ‘98.

"But I'm still not convinced by Fury. I just don't think Tyson Fury's heart is in the game anymore."

Froch's strong verdict on Fury led to his father John calling him out for a fight in February.

John Fury vented: "Video to Carl The Snake Froch. You’re having plenty to say mate on your little podcast channel.

"John Fury’s rung the bell for you again, got you plenty of content, plenty of viewing figures that you were after.

"Listen, your mate George Groves said something very interesting. You and me, Wembley Stadium, 93,000 crowd. I’m up for that my friend.

"You’ve had plenty to say. I have. I stand by every word that I’ve said.

"You don’t like me. Let’s see what you can do about it. Hater versus Top Father – that’s what we’ll call this.

"But, it’s got to make business sense. Because it's a business, let's not forget that."

Froch responded by warning Fury senior that the fight 'wouldn't last very long'.
